The Ghana Golf Association’s 2019 Jr Ghana Open Golf Championship at Achimota Golf Club was a resounding success.
A total of 41 participants took part representing Achimota, Bogoso, Takoradi and Tofo Golf clubs respectively.
GGA President Mr. Mike Aggrey said, “The numbers this year were very encouraging. We hope to continue to see this trend going forward as golf has a lot to offer to these young people.”
Likewise, Chairwoman of the Ghana Golf Development Committee, Madame Joy Arkutu was also upbeat following the event.
She noted, “There are wonderful opportunities for young people in golf, therefore it’s quite refreshing to see so many juniors out today and likewise to see family members also out in support. We are also very grateful to our sponsors who support us in putting on these events.” Achimota course was in top condition and proved the challenge to participants.
