The 2022 Dr. Ishmael Yamson MTN Invitational Golf Tournament ended at the premiere Achimota Golf Club excitingly after Frank Avorsey sustained immense pressure from the heavy field to lift the ultimate prize.
Avorsey managed the course and took charge of the greens to finish with 38 points to claim the first prize in the Men Group A.
Beaming with smiles, Frank received a trophy, iPhone, and other products from the telecommunication giant for his efforts.
Following in second place was Ayoub Ghandour, who carded 36 points to earn a trophy and gift voucher, while Eric Gene finished third after delivering 33 points. He received a trophy and other goodies from the sponsors.
Meanwhile, in the Ladies Open, Elizabeth Essel-Koomson, virtually set her game on fire to shoot 40 points for a first-place finish.
Elizabeth’s closest contender, Mariatu Bah stayed in contention to close her campaign in the second position after carding 37 points. Both winners received trophies and other sizzling prizes.
In the Seniors Men category, Captain of the Club, Kwesi Amoafo-Yeboah shot 38 points to win, while Maggie Owusu Baah, won in the Seniors Ladies category with 34 points. For their prizes, both received trophies and an iPhone each.
Kwaku Ofosuhene and Vastie Amoafo-Yeboah joined the winning pack as they won prizes for the Longest Drive Men and Ladies respectively.
Closest to the Pin prizes for Men and Ladies went to Avorsey and Adwoa Asare-Asamoah.
The 2022 Dr. Ishmael Yamson MTN Invitational Golf tournament remains the only MTN-sponsored event in 2022. The organizers went above and beyond to ensure an exciting experience for golfers and all participants.
The tournament was in honor of the Board Chairman of MTN, Dr. Yamson for his admirable contributions and leadership to the growth of the company.
During the presentation ceremony, Dr. Yamson duly congratulated the winners and all participants for coming out in their numbers to compete in honor of him.
The Board Chairman also extended appreciation to the MTN family, the company’s partners, the business community, stakeholders, and the premiere Achimota Golf Club for organizing the eventful tournament to celebrate him.
