PROF. BERNARD BAIDEN GRABS THE FIRST TICKET TO THE GEC OPEN WORLD FINALS

The first qualification round of the most anticipated Corporate Golf platform – GEC Open 2019 opened in the Royal Golf Club, Kumasi on Saturday 7^th September to a well-organized ceremony.

The event saw over 35 top corporate golfers battle out for the ultimate prize. Prof. Bernard Baiden picked the first winning ticket to represent Ghana at the world finals in March 2020 in Dubai after carding 34 points off handicap 9.

Mr. Kwadwo Okyei-Gyeabour and Kwadwo Kyei emerged in the second and third places in the Men’s category after posting 31 points apiece off handicaps 14 and 18 respectively.

Meanwhile Felicity Gyeabour, playing off handicap 8 topped the Lady’s category on 30 points with Christiana Oppong and Loiusa York picking the second and third positions.

The second qualification round comes off at Achimota Golf Club on the 14^th of September 2019 and is set to see a showcase of talent from Ghana’s’ top corporate golf amateurs.
