The eagerly awaited 4th FNB Head of State Invitational Golf Tournament is scheduled for Friday, November 28, 2025, at the renowned Achimota Golf Club, Ghana’s premier golfing destination.

This year’s tournament will be inaugurated with a ceremonial tee-off by John Dramani Mahama, the President of the Republic of Ghana.

The Head of State Invitational Golf Tournament is a prestigious amateur golf event hosted annually under the esteemed patronage of the reigning President. More than just a sporting event, it serves as a vibrant platform for dialogue, collaboration, and business networking among leaders across various sectors.

The theme for the 2025 edition is “Giving Back To The Community Through Golf,” featuring 120 golfers from clubs across Ghana and beyond. This highlights the tournament’s dedication to utilizing golf as a tool for community development and social impact.

Proudly organized by Northwestern Solutions in collaboration with the Ghana Golf Association, the event is supported by First National Bank (FNB) as the headline sponsor. Additional sponsorship comes from the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Aphro, La Villa Aphro, Mundus, SAP Gp, Danny List Foundation, Caveman Watches, The Luckiest, and Nguvu Mining Limited.

Designed as a unique initiative to honor the Head of State, the tournament effectively connects executive leadership with the private sector, fostering an environment for meaningful interactions, policy discussions, and strategic partnerships.

Alongside President Mahama, several distinguished guests are expected to attend the tee-off ceremony at Achimota Golf Club and the closing ceremony at the University of Ghana Dome. These guests include the Minister for Sports and Recreation, Sir Sam Jonah, chairperson Frank Adu, Kweku Okyere (President of the Ghana Golf Association), presidents and captains of various golf clubs, Mr. Warren Adams (CEO of FNB), and several executives from sponsoring organizations.

The tournament features multiple categories to ensure fair and inclusive competition across all skill levels, including Men’s Group A, Men’s Group B, and the Ladies’ Group, among others. To maintain competitive balance, a handicap scoring system will be utilized, combining both gross and net scores to determine winners in each category. This format rewards overall excellence while recognizing individual performance relative to skill level, encouraging participation from a wide array of golfers.

Organizers and sponsors have hinted at enticing prizes for the winners, set to be awarded during the closing ceremony, which will surely add to the excitement of the competition.
