It was beautiful and brilliant outing on Saturday for golfers who thronged the Celebrity Golf Club in Sakumono to compete in the August Coca-Cola Monthly Medal.
The event as usual was enveloped with laughter, good cheer and great golfing.
These wonderful tendencies continue to drive golfers each month to the Celebrity Golf Club to be part of arguably the most talked about Monthly Medal in Ghana.
Fired by outstanding play, Richard Agyei in the end, held off a surging field to firmly secure the first position in the Men Division.
Richard carded a net score of 65 off handicap 6 after shooting 38 on the front nine and a jaw-dropping 33 on the back nine.
Those who have followed Richard’s progress over the years, however, may not be utterly surprised at his great poise in the game currently.
Richard Agyei, about two years ago, won the Carlo King Caddies Golf Championship and has since made great strides in the game as he progressed to the amateur status.
Meanwhile, Benigno Mimis, shot a net score of 73 off handicap 19 to stay in the mix for second place.
Captain of the Club, Geoffrey Avornyotse kept the momentum for third place with same net score of 73 off 10 but was separated on count back.
Catch-me-if you can lady golfer; Helen Appah continues to wow the gallery with her outstanding grip on the game.
Still reeling in her sweet victory at the Turkish Airline World Golf Cup a week ago, Helen capped another win in the Ladies Division of the Monthly Medal after shooting a net score of 77 off 23.
Aasa Lysberg finished second on a net score of 92 off 20 while Aileen Conteh stayed in contention for the third spot on a net of 93 off 23.
Competition Secretary, Theodore Asampong immensely thanked Coca-Cola for their generous sponsorship for the Monthly Medal.
