The 2023 Beyond Season Golf Tournament concluded in a thrilling manner at the Crystal Lake Golf Course in Minnesota, USA. Hosted by Beyond Media Solutions, the event brought together a field of golfers, predominantly from the black and immigrant community.
As the day wrapped up, Abe Nebo took center stage by delivering a captivating net score of 67, playing with a handicap of 7, securing his victory in the Men’s Group A. Abe delivered remarkable birdies, adept pars, and a few challenging bogeys, placing him at the forefront of the Men’s leaderboard.
Following closely behind, John Saina secured second place with a net score of 68, playing off a handicap of 4. Saina also claimed the prize for the best overall gross score, achieving an astonishing gross score of 72.
Kihanya secured the third position, earning a net score of 70 with a handicap of 5, while Boris Young followed in fourth place with a net score of 71 off a handicap of 10.
Meanwhile, in the Men’s Group B, Steve Mwaura clinched the top spot with a net score of 68 off handicap 19, while Cyrus Wilson secured second place with a net score of 71 playing off handicap 27.
Njuguna Gitau attained the third position with a net score of 73 and a handicap of 15, while Carlos Tongesai concluded his campaign in fourth place with a net score of 74 off a handicap of 20.
Within the Ladies Group, Kagendo Kubai and Shiko Nyoike triumphed as the first and second-place finishers, respectively.
Collins Kofi Oppong, also known as Mr. Beyond, the organizer from Beyond Media Solutions, highlighted the tournament’s significance, expressing his confidence that the tournament would soon evolve into the premier yearly golf gathering for golfers from black and immigrant communities.
After the game, golfers and attendees were treated to an enjoyable evening of dinner, music, and drinks. The audience was entertained by Diatobti, a talented vocalist, songwriter, recording artist, and dancer known for blending African music with captivating Congolese sounds.
The tournament was proudly presented by Dependable Care and received support from Minneapolis Health Clinic, Associated Bank, Myla Homes, Studio 444, and AG Consulting and Media.
The proceeds generated by the tournament were directed towards supporting the Circle of Life and First Timers Golf Outing initiatives.
