Mr.George Ackorful (GCB Ashanti Regional Manager) and Prof Baiden (RGCK Head of Operations) returned a combined stableford points of 33 to win the Special Greensome sponsored by Nana Osei Kwadwo II and Co. at the Royal Golf Club Kumasi on Saturday 25th August 2018.
On a day that was interspersed by rain the pair played excellent golf to emerge winners from a field of twenty (20) pairs of golfers. The pair played a combined handicap of 17.
The pairing was based on random selection from a pot of category 4 golfers and seeded golfers of categories 1 to 3. Each player in a team played alternative shots from the tee to the hole.
Frank Gyasi (RGCK Manager) and Nana Yaw Kaitoo (Mechanical Lloyds) came second with 31 points (combined handicap of 19) on countback after the original second team of Maxwell Owusu-Bonsu and Kwasi Gorkeh-Sekyim who returned 33 points were declared as non-scoring.
Emmanuel Coffie (Sanvik) and Awudu Holer (RGCK Pro) came third with a combined stableford points of 31 playing to handicap 10.
Mark Asiamah (Manager, Ricky Boakye Ltd) and Seth VonDee (Sanvik) returned a woeful 10 points to come last.
Coincidentally the pair played in the same group with the winners. They were asked to host the next Greensome event on Friday 21st September 2018 with the support of the winners.
The day also saw a group of six (6) CalBank staff playing a special 9-hole event. Isaac Asante came tops with a gross score of 72 followed by John Inkoom with 79. He pushed Kezia Boateng to third position on countback after she also returned a gross score of 79.
