Having successfully steered the fortunes of the bank with exciting innovations and great successes, CalBank Ltd dedicated this year’s Open to celebrate its Managing Director; Mr. Frank Adu Jnr.
Known within the golfing fraternity in Ghana as “Capo”, Mr. Adu has been an inspiring figure both within the banking and golfing circles. The Open, held in his honor produced an exciting mix of great golfing, networking and sizzling prizes at the premier Achimota Golf Club.
In the end Daniel Asomaning sealed off his campaign on a net score of 68 off handicap 8 to win in the Men Group A after edging into second place Jerry Kelley who finished off at a net score of 69 off handicap 6. Jerry however, received a prize for the Men’s Longest Drive while S. K Boafo claimed the prize for the Men’s Closest to the Pin.
Meanwhile, fast-rising youngster, Aaliyah Iddris faced off a tough field in the Ladies Group A to finish first on a net score of 69 off handicap 20.
Aaliyah in addition took home the Longest Drive prize for the Ladies Group.
Mercy Werner however followed in the second place on a net score of 73 off handicap 12 while Mary Prempeh ended the day on a net score of 79 off handicap 8 for the third position.
In the Men Group B, Michael Adjei Asare stayed in the mix for a defining first place finish on a net score of 63.
Najib Sani on the other hand registered his name on the leaderboard with a net score of 71 for the third spot.
Christabel Oppong held off the Ladies Group B to close the day at a net score of 73 off handicap for the first spot. Adwoa Asare followed in the second place on a net score of 75 while Jenny Hayle came in the third position on a net score of 84.
Jessica Tei won the Ladies Closest to the Pin.
Mr. Frank Adu Jnr, was appreciative of the support of his staff and the golfers who helped to make the tournament successful.
