Vincent Torgah has won the PGA Golden Classics; the third in the series of the Road to Damang Tour. Torgah went into the final round sharing the lead with Emos Korblah at a total of 210 shots.
He rebuilt his lead back to two shots when he carded 69 on the final day to finish at 279.
With this win, the catch-me-if-you-can golfer has duly cemented his dominance on the tour after winning both the Samsung PGA Captain’s Prize and the Samartex PGA Mahogany Open.
In the process, Vincent Torgah has amassed 1600 ranking points after his impressive showings in the three tournaments.
Emos Korblah proved a credible challenge to the title leading into the final round but shooting 71 on the final day was not enough to unsettle Vincent Torgah.
Korblah earned 450 points bringing his total ranking points to 1350.
Meanwhile, the unassuming Maxwell Owusu-Bonsu who has been hanging around the leaderboard intending to stay atop finished in the third position after shooting 72 on the final day.
Maxwell started his campaign at 73 and went on to shoot 68 on day two to reignite his hopes of challenging the title. He stayed in contention with a round three 70 however, finishing 72 on the final day erased any hopes of clinching the ultimate after he posted a total of 283 strokes: 4 shots away from the lead.
Biggie Chibvuri carded a total of 286 shots for a 4th place finish. Biggie churned out 71 on days one and two, 70 on day three, and a 73 on the final day.
Day one leader Kojo Barni lost his steam after an impressive 69 on day one when he subsequently posted 75, 73, and 74 to finish at 291 for the 7th position.
The next tournament on the Road to Damang Tour is the Memory Lane Cup expected to take place from May 19 to May 22.
