Saturday November 17th was another momentous day for golfers when the Gatundu golfers sponsored a Tournament which attracted 115 golfers from various clubs for the occasion.
Patrick Karoki well known as PGA playing off handicap 14 emerged the overall winner with 42 points. John Njenga playing off handicap 19 was the overall runner-up with 40 points.
Ben Omondi scored 38 points for third place playing off handicap 3.
The gross winner was E. N. Ndundu who returned a total score of 77 off handicap 6.
Ruth Kamau, playing off handicap 35 clinched the overall Ladies trophy after scoring 40 points, while Winnie Mwangi playing handicap 32, scored 39 points to emerge the runner-up.
Winnie Kamau carded 39 points off 23 scoring for third place finish.
The Guest winner award was grabbed by Fr. Kaigua who scored 32 points playing off handicap 16. Isaac Nguku was the longest drive men winner and Petty Kigwe took the ladies longest prize.
Nearest to the pin winners were Nathaniel and Veronica Mwaura.
In the Juniors category, Dan Waruinge delivered 25 points to vault into the winning circle.
Giving his speech during the prize giving ceremony, Dr. V. Gaitho, the chairman, expressed his happiness for the good turnout of golfers and reiterated that the association was committed to promote golf and was happy to be associated with the club and further pledged to sponsor the next year event.
