Michael Palmer, a 27-year old from South Africa is the winner of the 2018 KCB Karen Masters. <\/span>He fired an impressive last round of 5-under par 67 for a total 18-under par 270. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>\u201cI am very happy. It has been a tough first half of the year and the validation of the persistence is good. The win has motivated me to go for more glory on the Sunshine Tour,\u201d said Palmer.<\/span><\/p>\n

Second overall was Merrick Bremner, also of South Africa, with a gross total of 16-under par with compatriots P. Moolman and T. Ryan finishing joint third on 15-under par.<\/span><\/p>\n

Bremner had led in day one and day three. He lost the coveted blue jacket to Palmer by two shots.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>Martin Rohwer and Daniel van Tonder both 13 under were joint fifth. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>Jake Roos, also a South African ended his campaign on 12-under par to finish seventh. He was the Kenya Open 2014 winner at the same venue. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>Meanwhile, Kenyan Pro Dismas Indiza was the top placed Kenyan pro at joint 33rd.\u00a0The Mumias long-hitter fired level par on the last round yesterday to lead the five Kenyans who made the cut on Friday. <\/span><\/p>\n

This year\u2019s Karen Masters attracted a total of 156 golfers, 38 were Kenyans.<\/span><\/p>\n

The event enters its third edition next year. The Tournament attracted a lot of golf fans from day one to finish. On Saturday there was a Juniors shootout which was a closest-to-pin competition. This entailed the juniors chipping 3 balls from a set distance – from which the closest to the pin of the 3 balls hit was measured and entered as their score. <\/span><\/p>\n

There were different distances for each age group and the results were judged per the age group: e.g. Age group 7-9yrs: 1st, 2nd, 3rd for boys and girls respectively. <\/span><\/p>\n

A Hole in one at the KCB Karen Masters by Ryan Cairns 204 meters with a 6 iron at hole #5 made him the winner of a brand new Toyota Prado. It was a Tournament full of fun and incredible surprises. <\/span><\/p>\n

Next major Tournament will be the\u00a0rotational Victoria cup Tournament set to take place at VetLab Sports Club 25-28 July, 2019.<\/span><\/p>\n\n
