The Individual &#8220;Three-Round&#8221; Strokeplay saw Gladys Kpatchi from Togo in a commanding 21-stroke lead after shooting a total 127 in the Women category.<\/p>\n<p>Gabon\u2019s Moukoula Vyldie hit a number of quality shots with some putting accuracy but finished in a yawning distant of 21-strokes for a total 148 for second place.<\/p>\n<p>In third place, Ingrid Mouvoundy stayed in the rhythm after carding a total of 149 while Ghana\u2019s Yvonne Yirenkyi shot a total 150 for the fourth spot.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile Laethihia Meledje from Ivory Coast, almost slid off the leaderboard after returning a total 154 to close the first day on the fifth position.<\/p>\n<p>In the Men Category, Ghana\u2019s Kelvin Boateng drained some amazing putts to move into outright lead on a total score of 120 after the three-round campaign. With this lead, he hopes to ride the wave going into the second day.<\/p>\n<p>Maurice Offei also from Ghana, stayed in contention for the second spot after he carded a total 130, 10-strokes away from the lead.<\/p>\n<p>Guinea\u2019s Aboubacar Kourouma delivered a modest score of 132 for a third placed-finish. Ruben Minko-Mi from Gabon returned a total 132 for the fourth place in the category.<\/p>\n<p>In the Teams Category, Gladys Kpatchi and Arthure Somasse from Togo joined forces to rout the leaderboard on a total <span style=\"display:inline!important; float:none; background-color:transparent; color:#333333; cursor:text; font-family:Georgia,'TimesNewRoman','BitstreamCharter',Times,serif; font-size:16px; font-style:normal; font-variant:normal; font-weight:400; letter-spacing:normal; orphans:2text-decoration:none; text-indent:0px; text-transform:none; -webkit-text-stroke-width:0px; white-space:normal; word-spacing:0px; text-align:left;\">strokes of <\/span>272.<\/p>\n<p>Ghana\u2019s Yvonne Yirenkyi and Maurice Offei moved into second place after a combined score of 280.<\/p>\n<p>In the Guest Women category, Alice Kobisch from Germany scored to an incredible total of 117 strokes to stay atop the leaderboard.<\/p>\n<p>In a similar fashion, it was all clicking for Karl Lakos from Austria who took a defining lead in the Guest Men category, Karl completed the campaign on a total 120 strokes.<\/p>\n<p>Following in the second position was Christian Pannek on the same score of 120 but was separated on countback.<\/p>\n<p>Per the tournament\u2019s rules, the best African player in each category \/ mixed pair will be the African Champions in the respective categories.<\/p>\n<p>Tomorrow, Saturday, July 28th will involve two rounds for all (individual strokeplay and mixed pairs)<br \/>\nTheGolfer Online<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Day one of the maiden Coca Cola Open African MiniGolf Championship got off to an exciting finish at the Sports City Arena in Accra.
