Ghana\u2019s Kelvin Boateng set himself up for a defining and happy ending on day two of the Coca-Cola Open African MiniGolf Championship at the Sports City Arena in Accra. <\/span><\/p>\n

Kelvin started his campaign on solid footing when he finished 35 strokes on round one to affirm his stand on the leaderboard. He went on to card a 42, 43, 46 and a final 36 for a total 202 strokes that sent the gallery agog. <\/span><\/p>\n

Spontaneous fun and excitement took over the arena as others joined in the merry making with the winners.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe feeling is great\u201d. He said, adding, \u201cI would like to give thanks to God, I couldn\u2019t have done this by myself.\u201d He continued by showering praises on the organizers as well for what he described as a great tournament. <\/span><\/p>\n

Kelvin believes that minigolf is fun, it\u2019s mathematics and an avenue to learn a lot while you play. With this crucial win, Kelvin will represent Ghana in Las Vegas for the World Top 100 Minigolfers Championship<\/span> together with Aboubacar Kourouma from Guinea. <\/span><\/p>\n

Aboubacar posted a medley of scores over his five-round campaign to finish at 214 strokes for the second position. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In series of considerable consistencies, Aboubacar started off at 47, made some gains on round two for 45, improved hugely on round three for 40, and even led the field on round four for 39 before he broke the chain for 43 on his final round. <\/span><\/p>\n

However, Solomon Lokko from Ghana returned 218 strokes over five rounds for a third-placed finish. <\/span><\/p>\n

Ghana\u2019s Maurice Offei also made enough ground to rise into contention and settled for the third position on 220 strokes. <\/span><\/p>\n

In the Men Guest category, Christian Pannek lead the pack by 7 strokes for a 195 total. Karl Lakos finished at second place on 199 strokes. <\/span><\/p>\n

The tournament enters its final stage on Sunday July 29th for the Coca-Cola Knockout Champion; who will have to sail through a tough field of 54 players to emerge the lone winner. <\/span><\/p>\n

The deserving winner also gets the rare opportunity to fly to Las Vegas <\/a>for the World Top 100 Minigolfers Championship<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n
