font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif;\">putting to claim the men\u2019s stroke play title of the 2018 Coca-Cola Open Africa Minigolf\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"margin: 0px; color: #222222; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif;\">Championship last weekend in Accra.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"margin: 0px; color: #222222; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif;\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"margin: 0px; color: #222222; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif;\">Boateng held off Guinean Abu Bakar Korouma to claim the trophy and one out of four available\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"margin: 0px; color: #222222; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif;\">tickets to participate in the Major Series of Putting (MSOP) later this year in Las Vagas.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"margin: 0px; color: #222222; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif;\">According to Boateng, winning the three-day tournament, which featured the best players from\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"margin: 0px; color: #222222; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif;\">across the African continent, has left him confident of pulling off a surprise in Las Vagas.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"margin: 0px; color: #222222; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif;\">Gladys Kpatchy of Togo completed a brace of laurels by partnering with her compatriot, Arthur\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"margin: 0px; color: #222222; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif;\">Somasse, to win the Mixed Pairs event, in addition to her Women\u2019s Stroke Play crown.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"margin: 0px; color: #222222; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif;\">In the Knockout Cup last Sunday, German Alice Kobisch edged out 54 other players, including\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"margin: 0px; color: #222222; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif;\">her compatriot, Christian Pannek, whom she defeated sudden death in the final.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"margin: 0px; color: #222222; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif;\">Alice, 53, aced the difficult hole 18 with a hole-in-one in the second playoff round.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"margin: 0px; color: #222222; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif;\">Christian Pannek of Gemany, Karl Lokos of Austria and Mokolla Byldie of Gabon were also\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"margin: 0px; color: #222222; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif;\">name the Most Valuable Players of the competition.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"margin: 0px; color: #222222; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif;\">Special awards were also handed out to Maruf Ahmed (Most Consistent), Lina Fattal (Youngest\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"margin: 0px; color: #222222; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif;\">Player) and Forbes Club (Most Progressive Club).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"margin: 0px; color: #222222; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif;\">Mr. Talal Fattal, Secretary General of African Minigolf Federation commended the players for\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"margin: 0px; color: #222222; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif;\">their competitive spirit and enthusiasm of all the participants, with special mention of gratitude\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"margin: 0px; color: #222222; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif;\">to Mr Ibrahim Kaba, President of Francophone associations in Ghana, for his joint efforts with\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"margin: 0px; color: #222222; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif;\">organisers register more African countries on board the Championship.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"margin: 0px; color: #222222; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif;\">Mr. Fattal added that Minigolf in Africa has come to stay, and the best is yet to come in the\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"margin: 0px; color: #222222;
