This was made possible through the wise counsel of His Majesty Otumfuo Osei II and the club has since seen an increase in the number of people taking to golf in recent times.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"margin: 0px; color: #222222; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif; font-size: 13pt;\">Delivering the tournament and club report at the just ended Vodafone 61st Asantehene Open Golf Championship, the Head of Operations, Prof Bernard Baiden, announced the establishment of a structured programme now available at the club for interested corporate institutions and the public. The programme has a 3-month duration or 40 hourly training sessions.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"margin: 0px; color: #222222; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif; font-size: 13pt;\">Prof Baiden also announced the acquisition of a golf administration software, HandicapMasterTM which has transformed results reporting and records keeping for all active golfers.\u00a0 He acknowledged the support received from Tullow Ghana and the Ministry of Youth and Sports for course improvement and equipment acquisition respectively. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"margin: 0px; color: #222222; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif; font-size: 13pt;\">The Head of Operations singled out the immense role played by Hon Kennedy Kankam, MP for Nhyieso where the golf course is located, for leading the efforts for the acquisition equipment worth \u00a332,000 (thirty-two thousand pounds) through Hon Isaac Asiamah, Youth and Sports Minister.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"margin: 0px; color: #222222; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif; font-size: 13pt;\">Prof Baiden highlighted the growing attraction of the Asantehene Open as demonstrated by the presence of high profile sponsors such as Vodafone, the headline and title sponsors ably supported by Menzgold, Cal Bank Ltd, Kantanka Automobile, Ghana Union Assurance, Stella Artois, Golden Tulip, Johnnie Walker, Everpure and DDP Outdoor.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"margin: 0px; color: #222222; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif; font-size: 13pt;\">He welcomed new sponsors on board and promised to continue to improve our working relationships with existing ones.
