The sky hovering over the Carton House in Dublin got a little darker, the wind a little cooler and brisker on the final day of the 31st World Amateur Team Championship. <\/span><\/p>\n

The prestigious event came to an intriguing end, leaving in its trail memorable golfing, fantastic hospitality from the Irish indigenes and a truckload of amazing memories and opportunities. <\/span><\/p>\n

Recounting the indices over the four-day event, showed a constant variance on the leaderboard and how competing nations struggled to outdo each other for the ultimate glory.<\/span><\/p>\n

Team Ghana however did their best to keep pace but eventually settled in a yawing distance from the leaderboard at the end of the world acclaimed championship. <\/span><\/p>\n

They nevertheless edged out other familiar competing nations such as Nigeria, Haiti and Gabon in the final analysis. <\/span><\/p>\n

The trio representing Ghana; Yao Dogbe, Alan Angel and Kusi Boateng are grateful for the incredible experience and exposure the championship brought their way. <\/span><\/p>\n

One of which was the outstanding meeting with Paul McGinley. Paul is an iconic figure in the annals of Ghanaian golf infrastructure. <\/span><\/p>\n

Paul McGinley designed the new Achimota Golf course and the opportunity to meet with Paul in a faraway Dublin and strike a good convo to the Ghana team was an out-of-the world experience. <\/span><\/p>\n

In the main event, Denmark, led by the 17-year-old twins; Nicolas and Rasmus Hojgaard held off a strong field of 72 participating nations to emerge the ultimate winner. It was their first ever WATC victory and they did it by just a stroke over the USA. <\/span><\/p>\n
