Floria Hurtubise dazzled the field to win the Independence Day\u00a0 Ladies Individual Competition during the annual Matchplay between IBB Golf and Country Club (Nigeria) and Achimota Golf Club (Ghana) \u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The event took place on Monday at the IBB Golf and Country Club in Abuja to coincide with the Independence Day celebration of Nigeria. The Matchplay is a yearly affair between the two clubs.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Lady Captain of Ankobra Golf and Country Club in Bogoso, took charge of her game and mesmerized the field to return a net score of 76 playing off handicap 12 . <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI enjoyed the game, and proud to have brought a trophy with me back home.\u201d Floria told TheGolfer Online<\/span><\/p>\n

Following in second place was Leticia Amponsah-Mensah from the Celebrity Golf Club. Leticia shot to a net score of 84 off handicap 10.<\/span><\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Sampson Assorgbah, from Achimota Golf Club maintained his poise to lead in the Men Division on a net score of 70 off handicap 2. <\/span><\/p>\n

Church Ansah Nazareth, also from Achimota Golf Club came second after carding a net score of 73 off handicap 14.<\/span><\/p>\n

Despite the overwhelming victory in the Individual Competition by the contingents from Achimota Golf Club, same could not be said of how the Matchplay turned out on Saturday and Sunday preceding the Individual Competition.<\/span><\/p>\n

Team IBB had a field day on day one of Matchplay when they conquered the field with 23 points against 3.5 points by Achimota Golf Club. <\/span><\/p>\n

On day two, host team, IBB continued the riot and turned out in amazing fashion for 42 points while Achimota Golf Club settled for 14 points.<\/span><\/p>\n

In all, IBB ended the campaign on 65 points while Achimota stayed in a yawning distance at 17 points.<\/span><\/p>\n

In other matters, Frank Avorsey from Achimota Golf Club won the prize for Longest Drive in the Men Division. He played off handicap 2.<\/p>\n

Over the years, Matchplay between IBB Golf and Country Club and Achimota Golf Club, always end in a \u201cHost and Win\u201d style and may continue next year at the Achimota Golf Club unless IBB Golf and Country Club turn out the magic band to break the jinx. <\/span><\/p>\n

Achimota Golf Club was supported by Sister Club,\u00a0Ankobra Golf and Country Club in Bogoso.<\/p>\n
