John Wangai remained supreme on his home course at Sigona Golf Course in Kenya as he claimed the second leg of the “Road to Karen” golf series last Wednesday.
John was in good form as he birdied the 9th and 15th hole with a bogey on the 8th for a total round of 3 under par 213.
Madoya, from the Great Rift Valley Resort in Naivasha, picked 3 birdies but equally dropped an equal number of shots for level par 72 to wrap his game with 3 under par 213.
Royal Nairobi Golf Club’s Ooko finished third. He had previously won the first leg. He picked a double bogey at the 17th, having bogeyed holes 5, 11, 12 and 15.
Ooko, who is exempted from qualifying, manage 2 birdies at the 9th and 18th for four over par 76 which left him on level par total of 216.
S. Ngige of Thika Sports Club and S. Shah of Sigona Golf Club finished fourth and seventh respectively.
The 3rd Tournament of the 5 event series will take place at the Muthaiga Golf Club from June 11-13 before action shifts to Karen Country Club which is the venue for the tournament.
