Since turning pro in the year 2019, Kumasi based golfer Maxwell Owusu-Bonsu has been a regular feature on golf’s big stages in Ghana.
Prior to becoming a pro golfer in the year 2019, Maxwell won the 61st Vodafone Asantehene Golf Open in 2018.
With the visibly intense competition in the professional terrain in Ghana, Maxwell has been lurking around gradually working his way to the top.
Believing in the power of hard work, patience and consistency, Maxwell is committed to begin a winning spree in his new endeavors.
The just ended Accra Open 2021 revealed a slight glimpse of what lies ahead when Maxwell made an exciting attempt at the leaderboard.
Owusu-Bonsu posted a total score of 290 over the four days campaign. He started off by shooting 75 on day one. On the second round, Maxwell made an intriguing recovery when he carded 2-under 68 to affirm his upward journey to the leaderboard.
A third day 73 and final day 74 however were not enough to rattle the leaderboard as it settled the promising pro on the third spot; five shots away from the ultimate leader Lucky Ayisah and three shots on the heels of Vincent Torgah.
This outcome from no mean a tournament like the Accra Open sets Maxwell Owusu-Bonsu on a path to soon make some exciting incursions for the big purse as he walks the fairways and battle the greens.
