The last of MTN Invitational tournaments in 2019 concluded at the Celebrity Golf Club on Saturday December 14 with an impressive line-up of golfers and stakeholders.
MTN as expected was very generous with prizes and other giveaways for the winners in the various categories.
Ebo Da-Costa stayed in the mix despite the scare of a strong field to win at 36 points in the Men’s Group A. Ebo combined effective putting and carefully converted approach shots to stay ahead of the pack on a day when many golfers were zealous to shine at the last invitational for 2019.
Joseph Turkson followed in second place on 34 points after beating into third position Jack Tang Kin who finished off at 32 points.
Meanwhile in the Ladies Group A, Floria Hurtubise took charge of her game and smoothly surged ahead with 36 points after edging into second place Leticia Amponsah-Mensah who ended her campaign at 35 points.
The ever-green Mona Myles-Lamptey however trailed in the third position on 34 points in the group.
In the Men Group B, Clement Owusu-Darko maintained his poise to finish at 37 points to stay atop the leaderboard while Vastie Amoafo-Yeboah claimed the top prize in the Ladies Group B with 36 points.
Cathy Fabbi on the other hand followed in the second place with 30 points.
In the Seniors’ Men Group, Charles Martey returned 37 points to win while Helen Appah delivered 36 points to emerge winner in the Seniors’ Ladies Group.
In the auxiliary prizes, the Men Longest Drive was awarded to Peter Daglo while Vastie Amoafo-Yeboah took that of the Ladies.
Closest to the Pin for the Men went to Emmanuel Ocansey and Mona Myles – Lamptey won in the Ladies category.
In his remarks, the CEO of MTN Ghana; Selorm Adadevoh thanked the golfers for having honored the invitation to play in the tournament and reiterated the commitment of the telecommunication giant to continue in their resolve to deliver the best in mobile and communication services.
MTN Ghana was recently adjudged the number one company in Ghana at the Ghana Club 100 Awards.
