The 2018 MTN Invitational at the Celebrity Golf Club in Sakumono concluded in a grand style on Friday. The Telecommunication giant churned out impressive golf experience to participants at the tournament.
During the competition, many golfers fired outstanding shots, battled the fairways and took turns to sink in incredible putts for a share of the leaderboard.
In all, Competition Secretary of the Club, Theodore Assampong, finished strong after capping 32 Stableford points to win in the Men Group A.
Geoffrey Avornyotse, Captain of the Club, kept the pace for a second-place on 31 Stableford points; one shot off the lead.
In third place was Innocent Wayne, who returned Stableford points of 30. Martin K. Osei, recorded same 30 Stableford points but was separated on countback for the fourth position.
In the Men Group B, Augustine Mensah-Hohoayi stayed in the mix to finish atop with 35 Stableford points.
Mark Peverett; past Captain of the club, stayed in contention for the second spot on 34 Stableford points, while Oswald Amuzu, delivered 33 Stableford points for third place.
Meanwhile, Agnes Adams from Bogoso drove considerably long and straighter shots to power her for a defining win in the Ladies category.
Agnes ended her campaign on 37 Stableford points; three shots ahead of the pack.
Vida Anang followed in second place on 34 Stableford points while Helen Appah managed the tide to finish in the third spot on 33 Stableford points.
In the Seniors category, Joseph Dadson, dazzled the field to emerge winner on 32 Stableford points. Kwaku Okyere, on the other hand came second on 29 Stableford points.
MTN provided stunning trophies and souvenirs for the various winners.
Board Chairman of MTN, Dr. Ishmael Yawson, congratulated the golfers for their participation. He further observed that the tournament is meant to provide golfers and patrons the platform to network, engage and establish strong relationships and at the same time enjoy the great game of golf.
In atmosphere of friendliness and good cheer, MTN treated golfers and patrons to riveting and authentic live band music.
