MTN Ghana sparkled the Tema Country Golf Club in a dynamic fashion during the MTN Invitational Golf Tournament on Saturday June 15.
Golfers began taking turns at the tee at 11am to work the fairways. About 100 golfers took part in the one-day remarkable golfing event.
When it mattered most, Floria Hurtubise, Lady Captain of Ankobra Golf and Country Club in Bogoso, captured the Tema Invitational in the Ladies Group A; for the second time after she lifted it last year at the same venue.
The incredible lady golfer, earlier in the year, also won the MTN Invitational when it made a stop at her home club for the first time.
“I am excited to have won the event back-to-back at Tema after I won at Bogoso earlier in the year”. She said.
Floria shot to a net score of 71 after edging into second position, Nana B. Tackie of the Achimota Golf Club who closed the day on a net score of 77.
In the Ladies Group B, Gladys Awuni of the Tema Country Golf Club dazzled the field for a defining victory on a net score of 71.
Pamela Atila of the Tafo Golf Club followed in second place on a net score of 76.
Meanwhile in the Men Group A, Samuel Gyekye of the Tafo Golf Club, churned out beautiful mix of birdies, pars and some bogeys to win in the group.
Samuel shot to a net score of 68.
Felix Kwame Akafo recorded a net score of 69 for the second spot while James Kally returned same net score of 69 but was separated on countback for the third place.
Godwin Asem came fourth with a net score of 70.
In the Men Group B, Nash Antwi, held off the considerably tough field to finish atop on a net score of 72 while Nana Dr. Ani Agyei delivered a net score of 73 for the second position.
Francis Sonne carded same net score of 73 but settled for the third spot on count back.
In the Closest to the Pin event, the Ladies winner, Floria Hurtubise won in the category while Jerry Tetteh grabbed the prize in the Men category.
Niine Sarpong took the prize for the Longest Drive in the Ladies category while Isaac Amoako Mensah took that of the Men.

In the Senior Group, Kwabena Boakye clinched the first-place trophy on a net score of 77 after edging into second position, Dr. Paul Owusu-Baah who returned a net score of 80.
MTN, as expected made the occasion one to remember by presenting dazzling trophies, prizes, devices, among other goodies for all deserving golfers.
