Sunday Olapade had the best round of the day and grabbed the 36 holes lead at the Tour Championship after shooting a 4-under par 68 to get to 5-under for the tournament.
The Nigerian started the day 1-under and tied for second place but broke away with five birdies and one bogey.
“I feel confident’ Olapade said after the opening round. “ I need to think proper and make it happen tomorrow as the kind of golf I played I had not played before”.
Gift Wily finished 1-over 73 to reach 3-under for the tournament sitting two back from the leader.
Vincent Torgah; the defending champion, posted 1-under 71 to get to 1-under for the tournament and moved to third place in the leaderboard.
Visitor Mapwanya signed for a second round of 1-over par 73 putting him 5 strokes short of the leader in fourth place.
Kingsley Oparaku closed with 1-under par 71 and jumped from 14th to 5th place, tied with Mohammed Liman.
