Sunday Olapade shot 2 under par (70) including an eagle on a par 5 hole 13 and holds one shot lead at NDDC PRO-AM CHAMPIONSHIP.
The Nigerian who started the second round tied for third position, among 4 other players, has now taken the lead after 36 holes.
Ranked number 2 in the Order of Merit of the West Africa Golf Tour, Olapade has been playing a lot of good golf during the season and has so far won two Tour events, Port Harcourt Classic in April and B&E in July.
Gift Willy finished even par (72) moving down the leaderboard to second place followed by Pride Sembo who shot 2 under (70), eight strokes better than his opening round 78 to jump from a tie for 15th to third place.
Ghanaian Vincent Torgah, number 1 in the Order of Merit of the West Africa Golf Tour, also moved from a tie for 17th into a share of fourth place after 36 holes.
27 players have made the cut and will continue playing the third round of the NDDC PRO-AM CHAMPIONSHIP tomorrow, Saturday at IBOM Hotel and Golf Resort in Uyo, Nigeria.
The amateur tournament will start tomorrow after professionals tee off early in the morning.
The tournament is sponsored by Niger Delta Development Commission.
