His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II this morning, officially opened the 2018 Stanbic – Otumfuo Invitational Golf Tournament; the annual competition that is being held in his honor at the Royal Golf Club in Kumasi.
The Asante King arrived at the celebrated golf course looking sporty and hearty in a Tiger Wood inspired white and black Nike polo shirt and a matching pair of white trousers. It was evident the moment he arrived that he brings not just his royal presence to the game but a well-defined persona and splendor.

The Asantehene officially teed off as he sent the ball into the fairway in his first drive to open the 2018 Stanbic Bank sponsored invitational tournament. He played a ceremonial seven-hole round of golf with the Managing Director of Stanbic Bank, Mr. Alhassan Andani.
This year’s event has been extended to include a Pro-Am team event on the open day to usher in the tournament. The Pro-Am will see the top ranked professionals team up with selected amateurs to vie for lucrative prizes on offer.
The main competition starts on Saturday morning and will include all categories of golfers. Over 150 golfers are expected to come from Accra, Ankobrah, Beige Village, Damang, Obuasi, Nsuta, Samereboi, Tarkwa, Takoradi, Celebrity and Tema golf clubs to participate in the weekend-long invitational tournament.
