The maiden 2018 Coca-Cola Open African MiniGolf Championship has ended at the Sports City Arena in Accra, Ghana on Sunday July 29.
The competition unearthed some of the great talents that abound on the continent in the world of minigolf. From the stretch and reach of several African countries and nationalities, descents of Congo, Guinea, Ghana, Togo, Chad, Mauritania, Ivory Coast, Benin, Nigeria, Mali, Gabon and Burkina Faso worked the greens hole after hole at the arena.
The tournament also featured guest players from other parts of the world as well as leadership of the World MiniGolf Federation and the Foundation of the MiniGolf Kidz.
When it mattered most, Kelvin Boateng from Ghana, Aboubacar Kourouma from Guinea, Gladys Kpatchi from Togo and Alice Kobisch from Germany worked the course to their grooves to emerge champions from the competition.
These champions will compete in Las Vegas for the 100 World MiniGolfers Championship in September.
The ceremony also awarded several individuals in the following categories; African Mixed Pairs, Youth 2018 Knock Out Cup, Most Consistent Player, Most Progressive Club, African MiniGolf 2018 Youngest Player, MVP Awards and World MiniGolf Federation Special Awards.
The opening ceremony turned out authentically African, amazingly colorful, intriguingly fun and smiles galore. Similarly, the closing ceremony produced wow moments of smiles and great memories.
