Royal Golf Club, Kumasi has donated eighty-five (85) Latex Foam DONA pillows to the KNUST Hospital as part of its efforts to give back to the society.
Golfers at the club donated their prizes won during the 2017 Latex Foam Masters held earlier this year.
The gesture is in line with the club’s vision to contribute their quota to the well-being of the society. This is the first of many such donations lined up by the current Management of the club as part of its outreach and philanthropic agenda.
Presenting the pillows on behalf of the club at a short presentation ceremony at the club on Monday afternoon, Nana Agyei Duku, Chairman of Ghana Union Assurance, who is a regular golfer, challenged other clubs to emulate the gesture of Royal Golf Club and give back to the society.
This he believes will erase the notion that the golfing fraternity is always taking from the society through sponsorship from the corporate world.
Nana Duku was joined by Mr. Frank Gyasi, the club Manager, Mr. Kwadwo Okyei-Gyeabour and Mr. Edward Prempeh, both golfers from the club.
Mrs. Evelyn Ackah-Arthur, KNUST Hospital Matron received the donation on behalf of the hospital and thanked the club for kind and thoughtful gesture.
She was accompanied by the Hospital Administrator, Mrs. Yvonne Baiden, who arranged the donation. Mrs Ackah-Arthur assured the club that the hospital would make good use of the pillow in various wards of the hospital.
