Samuel Frimpong emerged overall winner of a Match Play tournament at the Royal Golf Club in Kumasi.
The tournament commenced week ago on Saturday and ended on Monday.
Samuel, preceding his lone dominance in the competition during the finals, was in close contention with Prof. B. K Baiden; winner of the GEC Open Ghana first league in Kumasi.
Samuel however, vaulted into first place after a defining 5 shots lead after hole 15. This feat delivered B.K Baiden a technical knockout to trail in the second spot.
Presentations were made by the Nhyieso MP Honorable Kennedy Kankam.
The matchplay was only open for the Royal Golf Club members.
The format of the match play begins with a Round of 16, that proceeds into a quarter final, semi-finals and the ultimate two golfers atop the leaderboard during the semi-finals stage face it off in the finals.
Samuel Frimpong played at handicap 11.
