Muthaiga Golf Club; the par 71 course and well known as the home of golf in Kenya during the weekend hosted Muthaiga Open.
The Open was played Saturday 36 holes and Sunday 18 holes totaling 54 holes.
Simon Njogu the plus one handicapper, shot first round one-under per 70 and second round two-over par 73 and final round of four-over par 75 for a total 218 shots.
Simon of The Great Rift Valley Golf Resort beat the home player Mutahi Kibugu with six shots to claim the Title.
Muthaiga Open; the Kenya Golf Amateur Golf Championship series attracted a total of 80 golfers playing off handicap nine and below.
Second was the home player Mutahi Kibugu of Muthaiga who shot 224. Ben Omondi of Ruiru Sports Club shot 225 for the third place.
Chris Andrea of Ruiru Sports Club and a product of Charles Farrar Foundation of Kenya shot 72 to become the gross winner in the final round.
Taimur Malik of Windsor Golf and Country Club was the net winner with 217 beating Frank Munyuah with a shot.
Frank Munyuah a member of Ruiru Sports Club and also a product of Charles Farrar Foundation of Kenya shot 218 to become the runner-up and Evans Vitisia was the second runner-up with 219.
Ruiru Sports Club hosted “Friends of the Vice-Captain” tournament which attracted a Total of 129 golfers.
David K Mbugua with a net of 66 shots was the Men’s winner beating Zack Muigai with countback who also shot 66 net.
Josphat Mbugua was the second runner-up with 67 shots net.
The lady winner was Jane Mwaura who shot 67 net followed by Wambui Rugu with 71 net. The guest winner was Fredrick Wagura with 70 net. The Nines were won by Linus Wachira 30 net and John Nyaga 32 net.
