Starting New At Golf (SNAG), is a fascinating way to be introduced to golf. SNAG was developed by American golf professional, Terry Anton.
It incorporates the use of oversized, lightweight clubs, larger balls and larger targets. In fact, it’s arguably the BEST way to teach children the golf swing.
JHS student participants of Ace It Foundation in Gomoa-Fetteh, CR are gaining great exposure to golf using SNAG.
Four days a week they learn golf on just an open space at their school compound. In addition to the SNAG the AIF participants also engage in science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM) activities.
Once they have learned the basics of the swing in Fetteh, the next step is travel to Accra for a try at the real course.
Once a month, participants get to visit Achimota Golf Club for a try at the driving range to further develop their skills.
The program has been running for three years now. For more information visit the Ace It Foundation Facebook page and or the website at www.aceitfoundation.org.
