Achimota based Stephen Klah is currently occupying the leaderboard in the Pros Division at the ongoing 2018 Stanbic – Otumfuo Invitational Golf Tournament in round one. Stephen defied the seemingly tough course due to the previous rains to return a par of 72. (Stephen was not available for comment)
Peter Korsah is trailing with a 2-over par after completing the 18-hole first round. He birdied hole 10 on the front nine (in reverse) and struggled with three ensuing holes resulting in bogeys. However, he is confident that his game pattern will change for the best going into the final round tomorrow.
“I am expecting to come out as the winner eventually, I will do well to work on my lapses and improve it” He also mentioned that he will use this tournament to fix himself and correct his mistakes as he prepares for the Asantehene Championship which is coming up later in May.
Occupying the 3rd place position in the first round is Ernest Poku who also closed with a 2-over par. He observed that due to the rains, most part of the course was muddy, and balls were not running the way he wanted. To get back into the final game tomorrow however, he is planning of scoring a 3 under par to close the campaign with one under par. He hopes to stay calm to manage the game and the course.
