After winning the first two tournaments of the 2019 African Tour season, Vincent Torgah starts the third event, FCT Classic, taking early lead.
The Ghanaian golfer stayed hot on the front, birdieing five out of the nine holes and No.10 and No.12 on the back nine to finish 65, 4-shots lead over Pristhy Nji in the first round of the FCT Classic at IBB International Golf and Country Club in Abuja, Nigeria.
The Cameroonian first round included five birdies and two bogeys finishing at 4-under 67.
Four Nigerian players, Gift Willy, Kabiru Haruna, Michael Ubi and E. K Owusu tied for third position after shooting 1-under 71.
Michael Ubi and Daniel Kiewitz both eagled hole 2 par 5.
The four-day event will see 40 players from Nigeria, Ghana, Cameroon, Gabon, Germany and Equatorial Guinee competing for the FCT Classic trophy and the 4.000 points of the African Tour Order of Merit.
