Samsung PGA Captain’s Prize Professional Golf Tournament has ended at the Celebrity Golf Club in Sakumono, Ghana.
When it mattered most, Vincent Torgah stayed ahead of the pack to win with 8-strokes after the four-day campaign. Torgah ended day one at 69 and delivered 71 on day two.
He however kicked his game up a notch on day three where he shot a defining 63 and a final 67 on day four to bring his total score to 14-under 270.
His brother Francis Torgah followed in second position after he shot a total score of 278 over the four day outing.
Francis opened with 69 shots on day one and followed with another 69 on day two to stay in the mix en route to day three where he finished with 68 shots. On the final day, he ended with 72 bringing his total to 6-under 278.
Emos Korblah shot a total 279; 9 shots off the lead to finish in the third place after carding 68, 70, 69 and 72 over the four days.
Stephen Klah delivered a total of 281 strokes for a fourth-place finish. Klah opened with 70 and another 70 on day two to stay in contention. He followed with 72 of day three and finished with 70 leaving him 11 strokes away from the leaderboard.
The tournament is one of the PGA ranked tournaments for 2022 GOLD FIELDS PGA CHAMPIONSHIP IN DAMANG and it’s part of Road to Damang.
There were a total number of fifty (50) regular professional golfers from golf clubs across the country who competed in the tournament, however, eighteen (18) were given Cash prizes.
There were also six (6) senior professional golfers who took part in the tournament.
Dawuda Mahama in the end came atop after shooting a total score of 220 over three days while Robert Degbe finished in the second place with 227 shots.
