It was another exciting Saturday at Ruiru Sports Club with 105 golfers including Juniors playing in the challenging par 72 course which is undergoing a major renovation in almost all holes.
Petty Kigwe of Thika Sports Club playing off handicap 22 emerged the overall winner scoring 42 points.
Joseph Mugo playing off handicap 14 took lead of the day by winning the longest drive and equally the closest to the tee titles. He also won the second back nine.
Martin Kiambi playing off handicap 26 was the front nine winner scoring 22 points.
The guest winner was SM Kariuki of Thika Sports Club playing off handicap 17 with 38 points with Michael Kinuthia of Vetlab Sports Club playing off handicap 19 as the runner up guest.
The Ladies winner was Esther Mworia playing off handicap 35 who scored 38 points.
The men’s winner was Laurence Nganga handicap 21 with 41 points. 1st runner up was Anthony Kamau handicap 20 with 40 points 2nd runner up was JG Mwaura handicap 24 with 40 points.
The Juniors winner was Teddy Muriuki. Wambui Irungu took the ladies longest drive and Catherine Wambui took the nearest to the pin title of the day.
The Tournament was well sponsored by Maxam Limited a Nairobi based company who are the exclusive importers and distributors of Warsteiner Premium German Beer.
Maxam is known to be a key promoter of golf in Kenya and sponsors various Tournaments in different clubs. Speaking during the prize giving ceremony the Company Key Accounts manager, Miss. Eva Kuria said it was the company’s policy to promote golf as a sport in Kenya while promoting their high quality Worsteiner beer distribution in the region.
